Young people face growing pressures, but do not always have the practical tools to understand and manage their wellbeing.
Exam stress and academic pressure
Deadlines, grades and expectations can build over time. Learning to recognise and manage pressure early can help young people feel more in control. Exam stress is a recognised source of anxiety and low mood for young people.
Leaving school for university or work
New environments, routines and responsibilities can make major transitions exciting and stressful at the same time. Practical wellbeing skills can help young people adjust and manage uncertainty.
Anxiety, low mood and loneliness
These experiences can affect young people in different ways and are not always easy to recognise or talk about. Understanding what is happening can make it easier to use helpful coping strategies and seek support when needed.
Meet Katy Ellis
Katy Ellis is the founder of Educate to Thrive and a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. Her experience delivering low-intensity CBT showed her how often practical psychological tools are introduced only once difficulties are already affecting everyday life. She created Educate to Thrive to give young people the knowledge and skills to understand and manage their wellbeing earlier.
